Note: Hoop Camp is staffed with certified lifeguards and meets all state requirements.

General Rules

Hoop Camp has lots of water frontage, but the private beach is the only place where campers can enter the water. Campers can swim late mornings & afternoons.

No food, drinks or gum on the beach (the trash can & recycle can are outside the gate).

Inner Pool

Everyone can swim in the inner pool (the area between the docks to the first buoy line).

No pushing or running on the docks.

No diving, or cannon balls from the beach or docks.

No swimming under docks.

You can use basketballs and noodles in the inner pool.

Outer Pool

Only campers who pass swim test can go in the outer poool and raft (the area between the rafts to the docks).

The swim test is six lengths between the docks without stopping or touching the bottom.

Campers must have a buddy to go out to the rafts and must come back in with that buddy.

Campers give names to the lifeguard when they go out and come in from the rafts.

No pushing or sinking the rafts.

No back dives or swimming under the rafts (campers can do front dives on the rafts).

Canoe & Yak Boards

Only the campers that pass the swim test can use the canoe & yak boards.

Lifejackets that fit properly must be worn.

Campers provide names to staff on the beach when going out & returning.

Campers can paddle around outside, not inside, the swimming area but no further than two lengths of a basketball court. Campers must be able to see the buoy at all times.
